Another weekend spent in dribs and drabs and of foolish 'Superstitions' and unrestrained joy.

Many called me foolish, imprudent, and overtly superstitious on my decision to avoid seeing the 4th ODI.
But i care two hoots....as i repeated time and again 'I wud rather rue my decision of not watching it than see India lose'.
A quick bgrnd on this....India lost both the matches I watched....so.....better not watch this un i thought :-)
All's well that ends well as Shakspeare said.....we conqured Lahore with the class of Rahul and the panache of our future captain Kaif. Looking down at the barrel after our famed batting attack was blown to smithereens by the much hyped '3 S's' (albeit Shabbir was shown his aukaad today) Dravid as he so often does......kept his cool along with the young brigade and guided us to safety.I forsee Kaif taking on Rahul's role for much part his career. Kaif has shown maturity much beyond his years in his fledgling career so far. His batting has been a revelation this series and his fielding...well he has just enhanced his reputation in world cricket as one of the best.

Let me be a little audacious here in saying that I've got 'used to' Dravid playing such innings much the same way as the flamboyance of Sachin of Old. How I wish i cud meet some of those guys with whom we saw the WC who cussed at Dravid all the time.....wats the point....some ppl wud never learn. But to me Rahul remains our most important player in recent times in ODIs ....dont think i need to reiterate his importance in tests. Taking over the Wking mantle for our team without uttering a word....carrying on the responsibilties of a deputy and most importantly as the lynchpin of our batting lineup, he has taken giant strides only in one direction.......GOD.

Lynchpin becoz he is surrounded by all strokemakers and his stoic presence, an iron will and the ability to 'GRIND' the opposition out of the game ensures that thores of ppl like urs truly dont suffer frequent nervous wrecks. One flaw that I wud want Dravid to work on is his tendancy to sweep the spinner out of the attack. He is too classy to rely on that shot for the sake of a single.....Richards never played it....and I believe that Dravid has a much better technique than the 'Maan'. Im too small a person to suggest changes to GOD's batting......his every drop of sweat and blood is worth its weight in gold.

So lets raise a toast Gentlemen ...... 'To Rahul, Kaif and to a 3-2 romp!'

A proud Indian
