A new addition to Freaks, Suraj Amonkar. I hope he starts blogging atleast once a week and is not a passive reader. Bala I think I could say that we respect your decision not to watch the match if it helps India winning, even if it means restricting you from viewing the match.(Kidding). I think yesterdays chase would have been equally exciting for you as the Pindi chase, but I agree with the fact that you would have suffered fewer nervous wrecks since there was clinical Rahul rather than flamboyant Sachin during yesterdays chase. Also, a thought about that "reporter asking Rahul/ Inzy separately whether the match was fixed " issue. Though Rahul and Inzy had every right to blow up, I think they should have tackled it diplomatically rather than asking him to shut up or get out of the room. Time and again cricketers are bound to be asked such uncomfortable dodgy questions, especially since there has been a match fixing cloud in the very recent past and cricket is still to steer clear of it. I think that a more prudent handling of the question would have been to explain to the reporter that though it is the popular misconception that the Indo-Pak one dayers are fixed, the assumptions / allegations are untrue. The reporter needed to be explained that by suspecting that the match was fixed he was doubting the integrity of people like SRT and Rahul who have given their blood and sweat for Indian cricket. If everything is back to the non-match fixing rosy days, then what was the reason to lose temper on an inconsequential person who was asking this question just to add some spice to his daily's headline. Rahul eventually did explain( to the press) that such questions bring disrepute to the game, but I think those should have been his first words rather than " Somebody take this guy out of the room " . About Inzy's "shut up" comment , the less said the better.
