A day to remember..one for the diary !!
Today was not productive neither research wise nor monetarily( well technically it is since its a weekday and I am working 20hrs a week ).Speak about going to places or eating good food ..boy was it (the day) great or what ( balls writing style there !!). It was a perfect follow up to Anubhav's bday bash.
As usual I said to my lazy laconic self last night that I would get up at 8 am..needless to say what happened. My friend from Rockville( Ashutosh ) was going to pick me up at around 4 in the afternoon and I barely got ready by then. I was heading to his place to attend his engagement party scheduled for Saturday the 1st of May. Today was reserved for just having a gala time, as if other days are any different. 6 pm and the ball was set rollin with a unanimous decision to go to Great Falls, VA. There is a park with a 800m trail along the Potomac river leading to the falls and it(the falls) would effortlessly classify as a photographer's delight. Anubhav would find even a GB worth of memory less if he sets off on his usually manic foto-clicking spree. A perfectly scenic place with lush green trees, mellifluously fowing waters and beautiful rocks to just sit around and savor all the subtle intricacies of nature is what the place offers. This place totally rocks and we should consider making a trip to this place sometime with our ranti freaks group cos it would be fun to disturb the serenity of this place. "Rocks par baithkar proper Gujju style naashta with puris, cornflakes ka chewda, bhakarwadi, etc khaaya" .. Bombay ishtyle !! Gujjus can recreate BBay anywhere with their travel mats, the food and also the water bottles. ( the whole thing very much remniscent of a picnic to our very own Elephanta Caves ).Well.. the food xtravaganza wasnt over yet...came back home ( Ash's place) to be treated with a platter of the perfect "Bbay rekdivaala" bhel-puri with the home-made khajur-imli chatni and green coriander - pudina chatni and was also asked to put "kanda" on the bhel . Even if all of us (self-proclaimed (bbbrrilliant ) cooks ) produce our best we wouldnt still be half as good cooks (as our mothers).Though you can put it down to sheer experience, is still a mystery to unravel how they(our moms) have reached a totally different pedestal . Also paid a customary visit to the Lincoln Memorial on the way back from Virginia keeping my camera busy throughout the short trip. Shot many pics ( Few are hot ..few are not --> Very few will get this pun ).But the picture which encapsulates the Potomac Falls in all its splendor is here.. for your eyes..
